The Company of LHD Solicitors Ltd is headed by John Halewood-Dodd, who as well as being a Director, is also a practising solicitor.
The original practice was established in April 2003 and incorporated in its entirety the criminal defence department of Douglas Clift and Co. John Halewood-Dodd, along with David Lindsay, were partners in that original firm running the criminal defence department. When David retired in 2007 Rachel Hood became a partner and subsequently the Limited Company now known as LHD Solicitors Ltd was formed.
The company specialises in dealing with every aspect of criminal defence work from the investigation stage of any allegation through to appeals at the Court of Appeal. As a company we pride ourselves on recruiting and developing new talent that shares our passion for this area of law. This will be clear from the staff profiles as five out of the seven solicitors currently working at the company also trained with us, including the two Directors. Our team is the largest in the area and as a result of our knowledge and experience the most popular.
We deal with all cases of criminal defence which includes prosecutions brought by the police, Department of Work and Pensions (benefit fraud), Trading Standards, the City Council, Health & Safety Executive or the Environment Agency.
We are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA No 533728) and have a contract with the Legal Aid Agency (formerly known as the Legal Services Commission) for the provision of Criminal Legal Aid.
